February: BEAUTY PRODUCT EMPTIES

🪒🧼🧴#BEAUTYPRODUCTEMPTIES – Beauty consumers have a cornucopia of products to choose from when shopping. That’s why it is a personal triumph when one does finally finish a purchase, more so if it’s later repurchased. It’s just so satisfying to use up the last glob of face cream, that final perfume spritz, or when you finally ‘hit pan’ with your favorite eyeshadow palette.

🦖🦕 EMPTIES Field trip edition: The backdrop for this February: Beauty Product Empties post is the Cabazon Dinosaurs (Dinny the dinosaur & Mr. Rex) roadside attraction. The two dinosaurs were painted/decorated for Valentine’s Day. I just had to share this with you all and incorporate these whimsical and kitschy characters into a blog post.

🚮 Below are my most recent beauty product empties that are getting tossed into the recycling bin, but not before I share them with you first.

Schmidt’s | Nécessaire

 😒 | $8.99 SCHMIDT’S DEODORANT – This is an award winning, natural deodorant. It is a very popular deodorant brand. I really wanted to like this product, I even bought it twice, but I don’t like it. It stained my clothing (especially when I wore black), because it is so thick, pasty, and messy. Also the product doesn’t easily sink into the skin, it just sits on top of the skin. The Rose + Vanilla has a pleasant scent. It does work, I feel protected when I wear it. The ingredients have no GMOs, petrochemicals, parabens, phenoxyethanol, perfumes, and synthetic colorants, and the packaging is recyclable. I also felt this product didn’t last me very long at all. I finished it in about 2 weeks, that seems kinda quick to me. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will every buy this brand of deodorant again.

😍 | $25 Nécessaire, The Body Wash – I love it, but I could live without it. I’ve purchased the fragrance-free version thrice already. I also purchased a eucalyptus one for my husband. He liked it, didn’t love it, but he liked it just fine. I like the fragrance-free one – it contains niacinamide, B3, vitamin E, marula oil, and green tea. It is a gentle, fragrance-free body wash that foams up nicely. I wish the bottle was bigger, $25 for a body wash is a bit pricey, and the product size feels too small. I do like the way my skin feels when I use this body wash. This is a great product for sensitive skin. It has a nice, thick texture that lathers nicely. I would buy this product again.

Neutrogena | Korres

👍 | $9.99 Hydro Boost Gentle Cleansing Lotion – This is a good, gentle cleansing lotion. I do feel the bottle isn’t big enough for the price. I finished this product fast, and it feels a little pricey. I like that it is fragrance free, but I wish there were beneficial skincare ingredients in the product, like the Nécessaire body wash I mentioned above. This is not a holy grail product for me, but it is also not a bad one either.

😍 | $26 KORRES GREEK YOGHURT CLEANSER – this is an indulgent $26 cream-to-foam, soap free cleanser that I love. I’ve purchased it twice already. Sephora does sell a mini size for $15. There is a light fragrance in this product, so buyer beware. I found this cleanser did a great job removing my makeup, it left my face soft and refreshed. A little goes a long way, about a nickel size amount is all that is needed. The product is silky and it effortlessly forms from cream to foam. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this one again.

The Ordinary | Neogen

😍 | $14.80 “Buffet” The Ordinary – This is a peptide serum that contains syn-ake, matrixyl synthe-6, matrixyl 3000, argirelox, hyaluronic acid, amino acids and bio-derivatives. I used this serum every evening after my Curology tretinoin (read more about this product here). I like the affordable price of the “Buffet” and all its anti-aging ingredients. The serum is silky soft and it sinks into my skin fast. I would most definitely purchase this affordable Ordinary product again.

😍😍😍 |$38 NEOGEN Real Ferment Micro Serum – This is a very smooth and hydrating serum. I like it a lot. It has a gooey and sticky consistency, but it sinks into my skin fast, and leaves me with a gorgeous glow. I don’t regret purchasing it. My skin feels plump, dewy and soft when I use this serum. I wasn’t super impressed with this serum at first, but now I consider it one of my holy grail skincare items. I can tell the difference when I don’t use this serum. In the mornings my skin looks glowing and bright when I use this this serum. I’ve already purchased this twice and I would purchase it again in the future.

La Roche-Posay | Timeless

😍 | $29.99 La Roche-Posay Ultra-Light Sunscreen Fluid – I like this sunscreen a lot. It sinks into my skin fast, and I love the way it looks under my makeup, it does not pill. This sunscreen has a runny, milky texture, and it easily spreads all over my face. It has no tint, does not leave a white film, and truly looks invisible. It is lightweight and leaves my skin with a matte finish and there is no strong scent associated with this product. It is a bit pricey, but I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this sunscreen again.

😍😍😍 | $26.95 Timeless Coenzyme Q10 w/Hyaluronic Acid Serum – I use this serum in the am immediately after I use my vitamin c, and then I put my sunscreen right on top asap. I think I’ve already purchased this serum 4x already, it is a forever product of mine. I like that it is fragrance free and it contains vitamin e, Matrixyl 3000, and hyaluronic acid. I like the texture, it’s soothing, and it sinks nicely into my skin. And the price is not too bad either. There is a Youtuber that I follow, and I use her code, so the serum usually costs me about $20.

Briogeo | Pacifica

👍 | $36 BRIOGEO Deep Conditioning Hair Mask – My third purchase of this deep conditioning hair mask. I will keep on purchasing it. Not super crazy about the price, but that is why I usually buy it when it is on sale. Love the way my hair feels after I use this conditioning hair mask.

😍😍😍 | $4 PACIFICA

Rose & Peptide | This is the mask that I purchase the most. It contains peptides, rose hip seed oil, chamomile extract, red rice extract, hyaluronic acid, pomegranate and green tea. 

Coconut & Caffeine | Includes coconut, caffeine, green tea and turmeric

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought these PACIFICA sheet masks. They are conveniently located inside my local health food store, so I purchase several of these every week during my grocery run. They are a good quality sheet mask. I’m not thrilled that they contain fragrance, so buyer beware, but their scents are not too strong. The fit of their sheet mask is ok. There are heart shaped cut outs for the eye area (adorable). The sheet mask stays in place and doesn’t slide around. There is always plenty of serum on the mask and plenty extra in the pouch. There is something special about the Rose & Peptide mask, it makes my face tingle (in a good way), it’s my favorite. My skin looks luminous, hydrated, and plump after using PACIFICA sheet masks.

Klairs | Pond’s

👍 | $3.00 Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask – I have stocked up on these Klairs sheet masks. They are fragrance free and contain skin calming ingredients like willow bark and centella asiatica extracts. This sheet mask is gentle on skin, calming, cooling, and hydrating. They’re made from bamboo charcoal to draw out impurities from pores, which helps if you have issues with large pores. The only thing I don’t like about these masks is that they come in two separate pieces, which make them a bit messy. I buy these on Soko Glam, enjoy more Soko Glam content here I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase these again in the future.

😍😍😍 | $9.64 POND’S Cleansing Balm Makeup Remover – I love this balm. It has a baby powder scent. If you don’t like a baby powder scent then stay away from this makeup remover. It works well and the price is not too bad either. It is soft and smooth and it removes my makeup fast. It does not leave my skin feeling dry. My only issue is that I do wish this was fragrance-free. I would purchase this again in the future.

Wander | Erno Laszlo | Burt’s Bees

😍 | $25 (6 x 2 eye patches) Wander Beauty Baggage Claim – Gold foil eye masks! Yassss. I like these a lot. Now, if you’ve been following this blog for a while you know my favorite eye masks are the Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Mask and you can enjoy my review of them here! But these Wander eye masks are my second favorite. They leave my under eyes moisturized and I have had no negative reaction to these at all. There is no irritating fragrance and they stay in place. These are an Allure award winning product. It contains Jojoba seed oil, lavender oil, and shea butter. My eyes are left brighter and more refreshed after using these eye patches. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase these again.

February: Beauty Product Empties

👍 | $38 (6 x 2 eye patches) Erno Laszlo, Eye Serum Mask – These are nice eye patches. Nothing too impressive. Gotta be honest I don’t think I will ever purchase these again, they are a bit pricey and I don’t feel like this product gave me the results I desired. They’re fine. Not bad. And not great. I’ve already got my holy grail eye patches that I enjoy, so I’d rather just repurchase my go-to eye masks.

😍😍😍 | $3.39 BURT’S BEES Lip balm – My ride or die lip balm. The beeswax and vitamin e makes this product moisturizing and refreshing. The peppermint oil makes my lips feel minty and tingly. I always have several of these on hand at all times.
