Tatcha Luxury Haul
TATCHA Camellia Gold Spun Lip Balm is a SPLURGE.
This is my first official purchase from Tatcha, and I’m kinda excited. All the Tatcha products are so girly and so pretty. So, I ordered my Camellia Gold Spun Lip Balm from Tatcha.com and it was a satisfactory online experience. With my $30 purchase I got three samples and one travel size cleansing oil as well. And that’s right, you read that correctly, this is a $30 lip balm. What?
So is this Camellia Gold Spun Lip Balm worthy of such an expensive price tag?
Should you buy it?
And do I regret my purchase?
~ FYI – All product information comes directly from TATCHA.COM ~
Tatcha does make an effort to appear as if they are trying to personally connect with their customers. The receipt was personally addressed to me (as shown above) and they ended the letter with a hand written comment for me as well. Nice personal touch.
The delivery box was nothing fancy, stuffed with purple paper, leaving my products secure. The lip balm came in a nice, presentable box. This was all satisfactory. Luxurious? No. But, I was satisfied.
Luminous – Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum
↑ TATCHA describes this product as:
This weightless serum of Okinawa Red Algae, Honeysuckle Leaf and Caffeine offers instantly-visible firming, reduced puffiness, and plumping hydration to diminish fine lines. A cooling ceramic applicator and fine dust of 23-karat gold brighten and diminish shadows under the eyes without adding shimmer.
Violet -C Radiance Mask
↑ TATCHA describes this product as:
Instantly reveal remarkably softer, smoother skin with this creamy rinse-off treatment mask. The formula features two types of Vitamin C: a water-soluble vitamin C derivative that absorbs quickly for an immediate glow and an oil-soluble vitamin C derivative that remains in skin longer, providing antioxidant protection from UV damage for brighter, more even toned skin over time.
The mask is also powered by the Japanese beautyberry, a superfruit rich in antioxidants that was found to stabilize Vitamin C, maximizing its effectiveness.
A gentle 10 percent AHA complex of seven fruits removes debris and the buildup of dead skin cells to visibly improve skin texture and support the production of new skin cells. Tatcha’s signature trio of Japanese anti-aging superfoods—green tea, rice, and algae—helps to restore a more youthful appearance.
THE PEARL – EYE TREATMENT & UNDERLIGHT
↑ TATCHA describes this product as:
A tinted treatment that awakens eyes with a pearl-like luster, hydrates and reduces the look of dark circles and wrinkles — instantly and over time.
This 2-in-1 makeup and treatment formula breaks upon application to deliver both refreshing moisture and natural coverage for a healthy, well-rested look all day.
- Awakens: Light-refracting pearl pigments work with Akoya Pearl extract in an active skincare treatment formula to restore radiance by helping to address the 3 causes of under eye darkness thinning skin, blue undertones and pigmentation. The Pearl works to address dark circles and fine lines and wrinkles by supporting natural collagen production and inhibiting hyperpigmentation, boosted by niacinamide, known to visibly brighten and firm.
- Smooths and Protects: Silk powder smooths the look of fine lines and imperfections, while a blend of botanical extracts protects from makeup and pollution that can cause signs of aging.
- Anti-Aging Hydration: Lightweight cream powered by Hadasei-3™, a proprietary trio of Japanese anti-aging superfoods, and hyaluronic acid nourishes and hydrates for a plump, refreshed appearance.
I can’t wait to try all the samples, and when I do, I’ll let y’all know if I’m going to purchase any of them. I can’t wait to try the Radiance mask and The Pearl. I really can see myself purchasing The Pearl if it lives up to its hype and it works great on my skin. Their cleansing oil is very popular, and I’m so glad that I got a travel size, because if it works well on me, I’ll purchase it.
In the image shown above is the box that the lip balm came in, and as you can see, their presentation is lovely.

CAMELLIA Gold Spun Lip Balm
TATCHA.COM describes this item as:
An intensely hydrating lip balm rich in Camellia Oil that absorbs quickly, leaving lips soft and touchable with a hint of 23-karat golden shimmer.
- Rich in Camellia oil, which has been prized in Asia for centuries for its superb ability to help seal in moisture.
- Packed with antioxidants and essential fatty acids to help nourish and protect.
- 23-Karat Gold flakes leave a subtle gleam on lips when crushed.
Hands down, this is a gorgeous lip balm. I couldn’t stop staring at it in the sunlight. My first issue I take with this purchase is that the jar is not glass, it’s like an acrylic, plastic material. The lid is a plastic material as well, which will end up scratching. It’s made to look like it’s luxurious, but handling it, you can feel that it isn’t luxe at all, at least not $30 luxurious.
The balm itself is not sticky or gummy feeling, which I love. It’s soft and soothing. It smells like lemons, but it’s not that strong of a scent. When I’m wearing the balm, I don’t smell anything at all, it’s just when you sniff the jar is when you can smell the lemony scent.
I don’t think it tastes like anything.
It’s a clear balm. If you do manage to get a few flakes of gold on your lips, it’s not that impressive. So please don’t buy this if you’re on a mission to look like a Golden Goddess, this will not make you look like one, despite all the gold flakes in the product.
I think the gold aspect is gimmicky. The gold flakes serve no purpose to how this lip balm functions.
TATCHA Buyer’s Remorse
Do I regret purchasing this product?
No. I actually think it’s a good lip balm. It stays on my lips for a long time, and my lips feel really soft. I like this Tatcha product. No buyer’s remorse, lol.
Will I purchase this product again?
No. Because I don’t think it’s actually worth $30 dollars. Plus, I don’t think it works good enough to justify the price. The jar itself feels so cheap.
Do I think you should purchase this lip balm?
Yes & No.
If you have no money issues at all, and you like buying unique/gimmicky products, then YES, buy this product.
But if you’re pinching pennies, and you’re struggling with your bills, then NO, please don’t buy this product. There are so many affordable chapsticks on the market, don’t waste your hard earned money on this. Because in the end, that’s all that it is really, a glorified expensive chapstick.
I’m not going to carry this lip balm around in my purse, because I don’t want my dirty fingers contaminating the jar of product. What I’ll do is keep it on my dresser, and at night after I’ve brushed my teeth, I’ll use some of this on my lips. It’ll become part of my nightly beauty routine.
This was an expensive $30 lip balm purchase, but I imagine the product is going to last me a long time. If it lasts me about a year, then the price won’t actually be that bad.
Btw, I like this lip balm way more than the Lineage Lip Sleeping Mask, you can read my experience with that lip product here!
Even though this Tatcha lip balm is not the most luxurious lip product ever made, it hasn’t damaged the way I see Tatcha itself as a brand. I do plan on buying their dewy facial mist, I’ll keep you posted on that as well.

I’ve been using this lip balm for a couple of weeks now, it really works, but I don’t think it’s worthy of a $30 price tag. Glad you found this helpful, lovely!
