BEST OF 2020: Drugstore Beauty Under $30

BEST OF 2020
I love shopping at my local drugstore. I often go there in the middle of the week, during the day, when everyone is at work, that way I can slowly and peacefully explore the beauty section. I’m a low-end, high-end kinda gal. I can go crazy at a bougie department store or at Sephora/Ulta, but I also adore affordable drugstore beauty products.
Below are my Best Of 2020: Drugstore Beauty Purchases Under $30

REDKEN Color Extend Magnetics Sulfate-Free Shampoo & Conditioner
$15 each | This Redken shampoo and conditioner are my go-to when I donβt feel like spending a lot of money on hair care products. Because I donβt always feel like spending $80+ on Olaplex hair care (Olaplex review here) This Redken set is safe for my color treated hair and itβs affordable, under $30 for both depending on where you buy them. Iβve bought these a few times already and I will keep on purchasing them.

Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Night Cream Face Moisturizer
$29.99 | This is an awesome and affordable fragrance-free product. I like to use it all over my face and dΓ©colletage in the fall and winter. I can use a lot of this every night and I donβt worry about the price. I really do like this moisturizer and I will continue to purchase it. It contains great ingredients like green tea, niacinamide, peptides, Vitamin B3, and Vitamin B5.

BEST OF 2020: Drugstore Beauty Purchases
$10.99 | CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin
This is an inexpensive cleanser. It’s an excellent and effective product in my skincare routine because my normal to dry skin benefits from the ceramides and hyaluronic acid. I like that it never leaves my skin feeling stripped and it is fragrance-free. Iβve lost count how many times Iβve purchased this and I will keep on purchasing it in the future.
$11 – $14 | CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30
I like this sunscreen. I use this on my makeup-free days especially if I’m going to be outdoors a lot, like going for a run or long walk. It is a bit thick, and it takes a while to sink into my skin, that’s why I don’t really use this sunscreen under my makeup. But the ingredients are what makes this such an effective product: it contains an spf 30, ceramides, niacinamides, and hyaluronic acid. This moisturizing lotion is fragrant-free and affordable. I wouldnβt hesitate to purchase this again.
$15 | CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion
I love this moisturizer. Every time I run out, I always purchase it again. I use this after I put on my tretinoin in the evenings, it has a cooling sensation with a lightweight, soft texture. My skin is glowing in the mornings. Sometimes I use it as a day time moisturizer when my sunscreen does not have a moisturizer in it. It’s an affordable and effective moisturizer that I will always have in my skincare routine.
It contains ceramides (help restore protective skin barrier), niacinamide (helps calm skin), and hyaluronic acid (helps retain moisture).
$6.99 | GARNIER Micellar Water
This micellar water works well. Itβs affordable and it is a good portion for the price. I will continue to purchase this again and again.
$3.39 | BURTβS BEES Lip balm
My ride or die lip balm. The beeswax and vitamin e makes this product moisturizing and refreshing. The peppermint oil makes my lips feel minty and tingly. I always have several of these on hand at all times.
$8.99 | Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen SPF 30
I first purchased this sunscreen in Hawaii. During my Hawaii trip I used a sporty, heavy duty sunscreen and I still got burned. So I went to the store to look for another sunscreen and I bought this one. I already finished that bottle from Hawaii. However, when we went to Palm Springs (enjoy more of my Palm Springs trip here) this year I made sure to pack this for my trip. I don’t sunbathe, so this protected me enough when I was in the sun for a short amount of time. It smells like vacation in a bottle (and I rarely use skincare with fragrance in it). It leaves me with sun kissed, shimmery skin (it does have a bit of shimmer in it, so skip it if you don’t like a little sparkle). It is lightweight and moisturizing. And I do reapply this every couple of hours.
$29.24 | Olay Regenerist Whip SPF 40
This was a pleasant surprise. A youtuber that I watch all the time recommended this product. So when I ran out of my last sunscreen I purchased this immediately after. Not disappointed at all. It’s a nice sunscreen at a descent price. It’s also a moisturizer, so that saves me an extra step in my morning routine. It absorbs quickly into my skin. This sunscreen moisturizer contains niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and B5.
It does have a bit of a sticky texture. Also, if you have a bunch of layers of products in your skincare routine, I’m not sure this will work, it might pill. I’ve noticed on days when my skincare routine is pretty simple and I don’t use makeup it does pill on me a tiny bit, so buyer beware. It is not fragrance-free.
$3 – $5 | Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balms
Crystal Pink Quartz Lip Balm is my favorite one for sure, but I do love them all. They are just cute, fun, affordable, and hydrating. They add a bit of a tint without being too fussy. These lip balms also have a nice, silky texture without being sticky. The pretty packaging reminds me of something I would have enjoyed as a teenager. I can’t get enough of these.

Ponds Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm
$9 – $18 (price depends which store you purchase it from) | This cleansing balm smells like baby powder. If you have sensitive skin and canβt handle heavy scents in your daily skincare, then skip this one for sure. I like the retro vibe packaging. The balm is creamy and soft and I use it in conjunction with my cleansing cloth. This cleansing balm easily takes all my makeup off fast. A little goes a long way and the product lasts a long time. It leaves my face feeling soft and hydrated. Also, I do wash with another cleanser after.
I only have one issue with this cleansing balm, donβt open your eyes once you have it smeared all over your face. The balm doesnβt burn but it is very thick and it shouldnβt go in your eyes at all. Also, it would be nice to have to the option to purchase this fragrance-free.

Drugstore Nail Polish
$3- $11 | I have my share of bougie nail brands like – Chanel, Smith & Cult, and Chantecaille. But the majority of my nail polishes come from the drugstore. I have a ton of bottles from OPI, Essie, Savina, Sinful Colors, and L.A. Girl. They are affordable, good quality and fuss-free.

NEUTROGENA Fragrance-Free Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream
$7.39 | I use this cream all over my body as soon as I get out of the shower. Itβs lightweight and hydrating and affordable. It is a no-nonsense moisturizer. It absorbs quickly and has no irritating ingredients for me. It does not leave my skin feeling sticky or greasy or waxy. The bottle lasts a long time too. Iβve bought this four or five times already and Iβll keep on purchasing it.
