2023 SEPHORA HAUL

This is my first official Sephora haul of 2023 on Chic-N-Pink and it is huge. Okay, the damage is done, my wallet is empty and my makeup bag is bursting at the seams. So get comfy, relax and let’s chat about skincare and hair and makeup.

I bought all these items during the last Sephora sale. It all may seem really expensive but I did get my ROUGE 20% discount.

Let’s proceed with a Sephora and chill session shall we.

SEPHORA HAUL – Body Serum, Eye Shadow

😍😍 Nécessaire The Body Serum | $45 – I did not want to like this product…but I do. It’s so extra but so necessary. I enjoy using this serum. As soon as I get out of the shower I use this all over my décolletage and my shoulders and my arms and hands. Then I quickly apply a moisturizer on top. It’s not sticky. It spreads nicely. It doesn’t clump up. I usually have to buy about 3 or 4 bottles a year. I try to get them during the sales. I do wish this serum was more affordable but, I like the ingredients and how it feels when applied. I’ve already purchased this item multiple times.

⭐ SEPHORA COLLECTION Colorful Eyeshadow | $10 – Color: 206 Secret Boudoir. I use this shade as a primer/base for my eye area which helps brighten and tone down the redness. I don’t think it’s worth ten dollars, it’s small and the packaging is cheap. However, when I can get this on sale I will jump on it.

Beauty Haul – Peptide Cream, Makeup Applicator

👍 BEAUTY BLENDER | $20 – This is the only blender I use to apply my foundation and concealer. It’s too expensive in my opinion. It’s not worthy of its steep price tag. I only buy a bunch when I can get them during the sales. If you can buy a similar product somewhere else for a cheaper price, then jump on it. I’m not claiming that this sponge is better than all other sponges out there in the beauty world.

😍😍😍 Drunk Elephant PROTINI POLYPEPTIDE CREAM | $68 – My only complaint – damn, why does the price have to be so high! This cream is pricey af…but I adore it. I buy a new jar every single time I finish one, this is my favorite daily moisturizer, love the way it looks under my makeup. It is a rich, cream that contains peptides. After using this daily I noticed my skin felt plump, soft, bright, and hydrated. I use one pump of this every morning after I apply my vitamin c serum and my Timeless skincare coenzyme Q10 serum, then I layer my sunscreen on top. I like the way my makeup looks layered with this moisturizer.

Luxe Haul – Brow Pencil, Eyeliner, Eye Shadow

⭐ Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil | $23 – I purchased this in the shade dark brown. Not a bad product. I bought the wrong shade for my eyebrows, so I now use it as an eye pencil. Honestly, I probably didn’t need this pencil. It’s a good quality product and I like the eyebrow brush that comes with it.

⭐ Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘N’ Kohl Eyeliner Pencil | $29 – Shade: Eye Cheat. Nothing exciting. I use this on my water line to make my eyes look awake and bright. I like it. Too pricey, but I like the way my eyes look after using this product.

⭐ Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Shadow | $32 – Shade: Magnetic Pink. I didn’t really need this eye shadow stick. It is beautiful, but I also have a lot of really pretty pink eyeshadows. I would get this again but, in a neutral shade so I can use it in the corner of my eyes.

Designer Beauty – Mascara, Concealer

👎 Gucci L’Obscur Lengthening Mascara | $36 – Meh, Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara for $6 works just as good. I’ve received many compliments when I wear Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara. I love the elegant aesthetic of the this Gucci mascara packaging, but it’s way too overpriced and overhyped. It also smudges a bit on me. When I wear my drugstore mascara it never smudges. Lancome’s Lash Idôle ($30) is a great mascara that can be found at Sephora. I would purchase Lancome’s mascara over the Gucci one as well. I personally don’t recommend this Gucci mascara.

⭐⭐ ⭐ YSL Touche Éclat All-Over Brightening Concealer Pen | $40 – Shade: 0 Luminous Milk. Love this product. This shade works perfect on my skin. Just a dab under my eyes and a few around my face where I want some more brightness…bam! I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on this product y’all cuz it’s been around for a minute. Plus, like it has a bunch of love on Sephora’s website. I’m a believer now. Obviously, I just wish it was a bit cheaper. Love the gold, elegant aesthetic it has to it. Will absolutely buy this again.

Brow Accessory

👍 Benefit Cosmetics GIMME BROW | $26 – Shade: #4 warm deep brown. This is an easy to use product. I already have naturally, thick eyebrows so I don’t need to fuss with them too much. This product helps my eyebrows look more full, plus fill in any little gaps. What I don’t like about this product is that it clumps up fast, and it’s messy. Plus, the packaging is cheap looking, the product information rubs off almost immediately after purchase. It literally looks like I got it at the Dollar Tree. Despite the few cons, I keep repurchasing it because I found a shade that matches well for me.

Beauty Products: Hair Serum, Skin Tint, Blush, Bronzer

👎 Kérastase BLOND ABSOLU Overnight Recovery Treatment for Lightened Hair | $59 – Not happy about the price. I will say I like the way this product leaves my hair. It smells like heaven. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will buy this ever again. I think I just bought a very expensive perfumed hair serum which contains no major beneficial ingredients. I can’t justify buying this again and I don’t recommend this product. It’s just too expensive for what it is.

⭐⭐ ⭐  Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint with Hyaluronic Acid + Squalane | $42 – Shade: 1 Fair with neautral peach undertones. I LOVE it. I use it on those No Makeup, Makeup Days. I pair this with my YSL Touche Eclat brightner on days when I want to be less fussy about my face. I can still see my natural skin underneath, it just helps tone down the redness in my face and lightly cover some small blemishes. This is not a full coverage foundation, as it indicates this in the name. There is no spf 30 in it, bummer. I will absolutely purchase this tint again.

Gucci, Gucci Girl

😍 Gucci Luminous Matte Beauty Blush | $49 – Shade: 03 Radiant Pink. I gotta admit I bought this entirely for its packaging. A glamorous gold compact mixed with beige pink and gold stars on the top, along with the Gucci logo. It makes me smile every time I use it. I do like the shade that I got, it’s subtle and pretty and a little goes a long way. I also just bought the shade 07 in true pink. I don’t regret this splurge. If you’re looking for an elegant and fun blush to add to your makeup collection, then look no further, this is it.

😍 Gucci Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer | $64 – Shade: 02 Light. Damn girl, why you gotta be so pricey. Again, gotta admit, I got this bronzer for the packaging. Love the gold mixed with splashes of Tiffany blue, so elegant. It is a nice, subtle, warm glow bronzer. It’s buttery soft and smells delicious. It does come with its own mini applicator but I prefer using my own brush. I’m happy with it. Gotta be honest, I’m not too sure if I’d buy this again, I might just keep exploring other bronzers. However, I don’t regret this purchase.

SUMMER BEAUTY HAUL – Lip Liner, Gloss, Lipstick

😍 LAWLESS Forget The Filler Lip Plumper Line Smoothing Gloss | $26 – Shade: Daisy Pink. It feels minty and cool on my lips. To be honest it doesn’t look like this can take the place of filler, like it claims. I’ve always had full lips, so I’m not too preoccupied with getting fillers. I just like this shade of pink a lot. I pair this gloss with my Charlotte Tilbury lip pencil in Pink Venus and the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Liv It Up. This is not a cheap gloss, I’ve used it only a handful of times and I’m already almost half way done with it. I don’t know if I’d recommend it, but I like it. This is a very pretty shade of pink.

⭐ Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner | $25 – Shade: Pink Venus. This is a pretty coral pink. Charlotte Tilbury are my favorite lip liners. They go on smooth and don’t make my lips look dry. They’re a bit pricey, and they last a long time. CT is my go to lip liner brand.

⭐ Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick | $35 – Shade Liv It Up. A pretty, pink pale lipstick. Much lighter and pinker than Pillow Talk. I’m happy with this purchase in my 2023 Sephora Haul. Not sure if it’s $35 good, but I’m content. I purchased it because I needed a pink lipstick for the summer and to go with my Lawless lip gloss in Daisy Pink.

2023 Sephora Haul: Highlighter, SPF 30

⭐⭐⭐ Charlotte Tilbury Glow Glide Highlighter | $48 – Shade: Moonlit Glow. I don’t like the price at all, but I love this highlighter. This is not a heavy, glittery highlighter. It is soft and just a bit shimmery. It looks elegant and natural. I’m not disappointed with this purchase. I will buy it again. I recommend this lovely Charlotte Tilbury highlighter.

👎👎👎 Dr Dennis Gross LIGHTWEIGHT WRINKLE DEFENSE SPF 30 | $42 – I have purchased this sunscreen many times in the past. I loved pairing it with my Drunk Elephant Protini cream, they both looked amazing under my makeup. Unfortunately, when I purchased it this last time, the formula felt off. It didn’t sink into my skin as quickly as it had done on my previous purchases. I no longer like this product for me. Beware, it leaves a major white cast, looks horrible under my makeup. For the high price I don’t recommend this product at all.

Luxe Summer Haul: Setting Spray, Foundation, Concealer

👍 Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Makeup Setting Spray | $36 – Ugh, I don’t know. I buy two or three bottle of these a year. I’ll admit I’m too lazy to really go out there and experiment with other setting sprays. I did try the Charlotte Tilbury one, meh. Honestly, they both work about the same. I can take it or leave it. If you’re looking for a setting spray, then you can’t go wrong with this one.

😍 Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation SPF 15 | $55 – Shade: 0N. I mix this with my Chanel Vitalumière Aqua (12 ROSÉ). Both of these mixed together gives me the most perfect foundation shade. This foundation covers all of my blemishes and it leaves my skin glowing without leaving my skin looking dry. A little goes a long way. This foundation is full coverage, a concealer is not really necessary for me. I only use one pump of this mixed with one pump of my Chanel foundation. I’m glad I found this, and I don’t regret this purchase for my 2023 Sephora Haul. The bottle is substantial and the aesthetic is luxurious.

⭐ Lancome Teint Idole Concealer | $29 – Shade: 090. This is a heavy duty concealer. I don’t always use this, but it pairs well with my Dior foundation. My under eyes don’t look dry or cakey when wearing this concealer. I think the price is a bit high, but I do like it more than the NARS concealer. I don’t regret this purchase, not sure if I’ll purchase again, may just keep exploring other concealers.

Luxury Makeup Applicator – Powder Brush

😍 Hourglass Veil Powder Brush | $65 – Is this a must have item? No. But I’m glad I got it during sale. I would not pay full price for it. I also used some points for it, so I paid a lot less than the actual price. Trust me, don’t pay full price for this brush. I use the bigger end for transparent powder and I use the small end for under my eyes. Nice splurge but I don’t know if I’d purchase it again. Don’t pay full price for this brush, try to get it on sale.

Designer Makeup – Dior Highlighter

😍 Dior Forever Couture Luminizer | $50 – Shade: Pearlescent Glow. She’s pricey but I love her. I don’t regret this purchase. It leaves me with a beautiful, pearlescent sheen. I use this in the corners of my eyes to brighten them. It’s a perfect summer highlighter. The packaging is a cute, beige, soft quilt with the Dior logo on the top – super chic. I also plan on purchasing Nude Glow as well. I recommend this product.
