CHANEL PRODUCT REVIEW & BEAUTY HAUL
Recently, I made several purchases from CHANEL, I’d like to share what I purchased and do a quick product review. Here’s the accessories that will be included in this post:
- ROUGE COCO BAUME ~ Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm
- BRUSH ROLL MAKEUP POUCH ~ Which features a mirror and two zip pockets
- LES PINCEAUX DE CHANEL Powder Brush
Let me just start off by saying that I don’t need a new, complete makeup brush set. I want, I desire a complete Chanel makeup brush set. I already have a sensible, quality set that I purchased several years ago from Sephora. I’ve used them to death, and now I’m just itching to start over with something a little bit more luxurious. I’m going to purchase all of Chanel’s brushes in small increments, because I just can’t justify such a large purchase when I’ve already got an old, not so glamorous functioning makeup brush set.
Now that I’m on this journey of collecting Chanel makeup brushes, let me show you the first one I purchased and why:
LES PINCEAUX DE CHANEL ~ Powder Brush $60
O. M. G. did you see the price tag?!? Yes, I paid $60 for the powder brush shown in the picture below. Ok, let me put this into perspective for you. For example, the SEPHORA COLLECTION Ready To Roll Brush Set is a highly rated complete set for only $70. The Sephora set includes 10 essential brushes, and it comes in a faux leather brush roll, all for just $10 more than what I paid for just one Chanel blush brush. So yeah, that’s why I’m not purchasing the entire set of Chanel brushes all at once. But I still don’t regret my purchase. And I’m glad that purchased Chanel’s LES PINCEAUX DE CHANEL powder brush because I’m going to use it with my highlighters and setting powders. It’s a heavy brush, the bristles don’t shed, and the powder doesn’t get wasted on the brush, it easily blends onto my skin.

Chanel’s Makeup pouch or they call it: a BRUSH ROLL ~ it features a mirror and two zip pockets.
Look, let me just start by saying that I purchased this Chanel makeup pouch for $30, but with tax it came out to $37. Do I think it was worth it? Yes, I can store my brushes and other accessories in this basic roll up pouch. It is convenient and compact to carry with me when I travel. However, it collects lint and dust easily, this is because of the material that it’s made out of. Does this pouch give off a luxury vibe? Absolutely not, this makeup pouch looks & feels like a $37 dollar product that could be found in the clearance section of Target. But it is literally all that they offer on Chanel.com as far as makeup pouches go. I would’ve been willing to pay more if they had an option to purchase a leather pouch. Or even a very, well made faux leather pouch. Seriously, I’m a little shocked that this was their only option for their makeup brush storage. Whatever, it is what is.
Also, let me add that this BRUSH ROLL pouch can no longer be purchased on Chanel.com!
Now it comes included in their APPLY YOURSELF makeup brush set, which includes ↓ :
- BRUSH ROLL
- 2-In-1 Foundation Brush Fluid And Powder
- Retractable Dual-Tip Concealer Brush
- Retractable Dual-Tip Eyeshadow Brush
- Retractable Dual-Tip Brow Brush
- Lip Brush
With a $244 price tag
Now, you’re forced to purchase their curated set of four brushes that come included in their BRUSH ROLL pouch. Completely not worth it in my opinion.
The round object featured above in the photograph is the mirror. Not a functional mirror at all, too tiny to do anything with it? Seriously, Chanel…what the $#@%!
Chanel’s Rouge Coco Baume is NOT worth your money!
I encountered several rave reviews about Chanel’s Rouge Coco Baume online, and so I thought I’d give it a try. Seriously, what a chic little accessory! Like, I’m so cool I have a Chanel chapstick *puke face emoji* I will never make this purchase ever again. Now, I’m not saying that I would never purchase a Chanel lipstick, of course not, because I’ve got my eye on several of their shades currently. I’m just not a big fan of their Coco Baume.
3 Reasons Why I’m Not Crazy About Chanel’s Coco Baume:
First of all, if your lips are currently chapped this “hydrating conditioning lip balm” will do nothing for your dry lips. Nothing I repeat!
Second, the product doesn’t stay on that long. It feels like I’m constantly reapplying this product just to get the desired effect. *angry face emoji*
Third, I paid $37 for this worthless bougee chapstick…when I should have just stayed faithful to my $4 Burt’s Bees lip balm. I love my medicated Burt’s Bees chapstick, it has eucalyptus and menthol in it.
Dear Burt’s Bees,
I will never stray from you again!
Sincerely,
a loyal customer

I know what you wanna ask me?
Maria, are you gonna throw out Chanel’s Coco Baume?
No, I’m going to use it till the very last drop because…I’m a frugal kinda gal.
I can’t wait to slowly purchase the entire Chanel makeup brush collection. Hopefully, if their quality is superior it might last me a lifetime? Maybe that’s reaching too far? I think think their Brush Roll pouch was an ok purchase for $37, but Chanel should APPLY THEMSELVES to offer better quality alternatives. And lastly, I did not care for Chanel’s Rouge Coco Baume, and I don’t recommend it at all.

Thank you so much! I truly appreciate it.
Chanel is the one brand I always perceive as a real luxury indulgence, especially their lipsticks – they have charisma! xx
