Foreo Luna 3 – Overhyped or Necessary Splurge?
🙅🏼♀️OVERHYPED: Just keeping it real
This is not sponsored. I purchased this with my own money during the SEPHORA (Rouge) 2020 sale, you can read more about this beauty haul here
Glad I got it on sale for $150. Do not buy this gadget unless you get it on sale.
Gotta be honest, I use this device every single night, not because it’s amazing but because I’m a creature of habit and I’m already accustomed to it. It sits in my shower, and it has become part of my self-care routine, and I use it every day to justify its price. I bought the wrong color, the purple one is too gentle for me and I should have picked the pink or blue.
*I’ve been using it around my nose area to help with blackheads and it has not helped at all. The blackheads around my nose are still there, even after months of using this product consistently. I don’t think I will ever buy another Foreo skincare cleansing brush again.
I take good care of my skin. I never sleep with makeup on. I’m committed to a good skincare routine, and I have a myriad of other beauty devices I use religiously. So my skin is in pretty good shape, unfortunately, this cleansing device has contributed nothing to my already amazing skincare routine.
Foreo Luna 3: Pros & Cons
PROS:
- Durable
- Aesthetic: Pretty colors and sleek design
- Compact – easy to pack for trips
- Convenient – this device rarely needs to be charged
- Large brush head
- No replacement brush heads needed, unlike the Clarisonic nylon brush heads that collect bacteria and need to be replaced
- Lightweight
- Gentle
- Also is a facial massager
- Purple one did not irritate my skin
- Intensity of this device can be changed on the app
- Purple – Sensitive skin | Blue – Combination | Pink – Normal
CONS:
- Expensive
- I’ve been using it consistently for months and I haven’t noticed a major difference
- This is a luxury purchase, not a necessity
- Massager is kind of a joke
- App: Customers are not happy with the app that needs to be used in conjunction with this device. After you save your settings you don’t have to use the app anymore
- Too high tech for many users
- Not sure how effective this product is?
- Hard to grip device properly in the shower, especially with slippery skincare cleanser. Not a comfortable grip when I use the massaging side.
- Buy the proper color for your specific skin type. I think I should have picked the blue for combination skin. The sensitive (purple) skin one I bought is way too gentle for me. I’m not sure if it’s effective enough.
- This device claims to help fight wrinkles and make you look younger. Blah, blah, blah…didn’t notice any of this with consistent use of this device.

Foreo Luna 3 for Sensitive Skin
Here’s the deal, if you wanna try a silicone cleansing device seek affordable alternatives on Amazon and other sites (as shown below). CONAIR sells a silicone cleansing brush for $20. There are also silicone cleansing pads, which means you wash your face ‘old school’ by hand, and they are super cheap. We are all living through unprecedented times, and the economy is not doing good, so don’t feel pressured to purchase these expensive skincare devices. This Foreo Luna 3 is a splurge, not a necessity.
*CNP tip: To save more money, look for older versions of the Foreo devices when they are on sale. Like the Play, Mini or Luna 2 versions.

The company claims this device will help fight wrinkles and make you look younger with its one minute cleansing and massaging routine. Seriously, super gimmicky claims. Don’t let marketing tactics trick you into thinking you have found the fountain of youth if you just spend $200 on their product.
No single device can transform the appearance of your skin. It’s the little things that you do for your skin overall that improves its appearance, not an expensive silicone mechanical skincare contraption.
