FLAPPY JACK’S
Flappy Jack’s
Flappy Jack’s is the perfect destination for a delicious, pancake filled Sunday breakfast. My husband and I never go to a corporate diner restaurant like, Denny’s or Ihop, ewww, never. Flappy’s is our ‘go-to’ place when we crave breakfast or comfort food.
Cheat Day Destination
Obviously, this is not an establishment we can frequent all the time. Visiting this diner is a treat, a ‘cheat day’ treat. This place always has a crowd of people waiting in the front (Btw, I took the exterior shots in these photographs after they had already closed, that’s why it’s so empty. Plus, I didn’t feel like having a crowd of people glaring at me as I snapped away with my camera)
Route 66 Diner
This restaurant is along old route 66, it has an old school vibe for their decor. 1950’s & 60’s music can be heard in the background. They also have souvenirs that can be purchased. I purchased a t-shirt and a baseball hat for my dad, because he’s the one that introduced us to this place. Flappy Jack’s is a nice atmosphere, and the staff are always pleasant. There is a waiting section in the inside of the restaurant, and they have plenty of benches outside as well.
Delicious Coffee And Great Service
We have never had bad service, slow at times, but never bad. The manager usually walks around the restaurant and greets their customers. They have some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in a diner, and it is always flowing. They have an employee that walks around just to make sure that everyone has a full cup at all times. There’s also a carousel at each table filled with a variety of coffee creamers, sweet and delicious.
Best Blueberry Lemon Pancakes Ever
My mouth is watering as I type this and my stomach is grumbling. There is a light hint of lemon, like they put lemon zest in the batter. If you like lemon and blueberries, this is the pancake plate you must order.
Flappy Signature Pancake
My dad always orders the Flappy Signature pancake. It is an oven German pancake filled with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. Look at how fresh the fruit looks (shown in image below).
Flappy Jack’s
We like to order the hash browns extra crispy. Besides their pancakes their omelettes are the next best meals on the menu. The steak omelette is filled with so much steak, I always have to cut it in half and safe the rest for later. This is an excellent choice if you’re not in the mood for a sweet meal.
Also, if you’re vegetarian I’d recommend their veggie omelettes, they’re delicious.
Flappy Jack’s has generous portions and great prices. An excellent choice for large families.
Avoid Peak Hours When Visiting
The only little thing that I have to warn you about is that when Flappy’s is very busy it can get a little loud. I think that is to be expected, but if you are sensitive to a lot of loud noise, try not to go during their peak hours.
There is always plenty of parking. And the location in Glendora is located on Rte 66, so it is pretty easy to find.
You won’t regret visiting this place, I guarantee it. But just be warned, they can get very busy in the mornings. Don’t go there starving or it will be a long, tormenting wait until your food is served.
Our 3 favorite items we always order at Flappy Jack’s:
- The Blueberry Lemon Pancakes
- Flappy Signature Pancake
- Steak Omelette

It was all so delicious. Thank you.
Maria, thanks for following Under Western Skies. I’m pleased to meet another Los Angeles aficionado. I’m pleased to learn about Flappy Jack’s. Sounds great – there’s no better treat than breakfast out at a place that knows how to do it. You might include the location in Glendora for your readers, although it’s easy to find via search. Interesting that they’re a 2002 establishment trading on the Route 66 vibe. I see there’s also one in Orange, and I’m slightly closer to Orange than Glendora, although I’d like to get up to Glendora again, which I haven’t explored to any extent. Happy blogging. I’ll keep tabs on what else you have to tell me about this vast metropolis.
