3 Anti-Aging Powerhouse Products In My Current Skincare Routine

In the previous post I described the 8 skin-vestment serums I’ve been using on a regular basis (read about them here) Technically this is a part two of that serums post. However, in this one I’d like to share the 3 powerhouse products in my current skincare routine that are like, the superheroes of all my anti-aging skincare products. They do the nitty gritty skincare stuff like fight free radicals, reduce fine lines, improve skin texture, etc., I haven’t included any sunscreen products in this post, even though sunscreen is the most important skincare product I use on a daily basis, that’ll be for another post.

3 Powerhouse Skincare Products

AM ☀️ MORNING | TIMELESS 20% VITAMIN C + E FERULIC ACID SERUM – $26.95 | This is my powerhouse and very potent vitamin c serum product. I’ve been using it for several years. It is affordable and effective. The bottle lasts me three months exactly. I use it every single day in the morning. It has great wearability, it’s a thin serum that absorbs into my skin fast, and looks great under my makeup. It is not sticky and doesn’t leave a residue. This serum leaves my face glowing, brighter, and more plump when I use it consistently. I will purchase this again and again.

But…

Oxidation

I do have issues with this Timeless Skincare vitamin c serum. A couple of times I’ve received this and it has already oxidized. This means the serum has gone from clear to dark orange. No bueno. You don’t want to use your vitamin c serum when it has oxidized, it is not potent and pretty much useless. Plus, oxidized vitamin c serum creates a barrier which interferes with the absorption of your other skincare products. There are many reasons why you don’t want to use oxidized vitamin c serum, so be aware of the condition of your vitamin c serum before applying it on your face.

Leaking Package

Also, the bottle leaks, like all the time. I’ve received a brand new bottle that was already leaking. I’ve read customer reviews that claim this is a regular problem, a problem that Timeless Skincare still hasn’t fixed. It’s frustrating, because it can get messy, and to travel with this serum I need to keep it in a ziplock bag. Other than that, I really do like this vitamin c serum, and I’m glad that it is one of my 3 powerhouse products in my current skincare current routine.

Anti-Aging Tretinoin/Retinoid Subscription Service

This skincare subscription service allows me to get my tretinoin without having to physically go in and see my doctor. The packaging is simple and not flashy at all. But the prescribed cream is potent and effective. I use this tretinoin serum Monday – Friday in the evenings, but I take a break from it on the weekends.

My prescription is for 4% Niacinamide, Azelaic Acid 5%, and my Tretinoin was increased to 0.05% by my assigned dermatologist. Not only is this an amazing retinoid serum, but I also get the numerous benefits of niacinamide and azelaic acid included with this product.

Curology is a good option for people who don’t have access to a dermatologist, but still want prescription strength skincare. It should not replace in office cancer screenings or hospital treatments for serious skin conditions. This beauty brand is definitely something to consider if you are looking for easy access to prescription strength skincare for anti-aging, textured skin, blemishes, or acne.

I will continue to use this service and I’m very satisfied with this product.

The Ordinary (AHA) Alpha Hydroxy Acid Chemical Exfoliant

🧴🧴🧴 EXFOLIANT | The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% Exfoliating Serum – $8 | I use this acid once or twice a week (but only on the weekends, never on the same evenings I use my retinoid) if I feel my skin needs it. It helps brighten and exfoliate my skin and reduces sun damage and pigmentation and improve the texture of my skin. However, because my tretinoin prescription was just increased and with using my vitamin c serum consistently, my skin doesn’t really need to be exfoliated all the time. But once my skin gets accustomed to the tretinoin increase plus the vitamin c serum then I’ll use this acid more regularly. Also, I’m careful about how often I exfoliate my skin during fall and winter, I don’t want my skin to get dry and patchy. There is also a 5% lactic acid available, I’d recommend to start with 5% and build up to the 10%.
