❄️ Below are The 7 Best Christmas Movies Of All Time ❄️

A Miracle On 34th Street

7. (1947 or 1994) – An old man who claims to be the Kris Kringle gets a job as Santa in the Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day parade. He becomes an instant hit, children and parents adore him, so he then gets an official job as Santa at the midtown Manhattan Macy’s in New York City. Unfortunately, he is later forced into a court case to determine his mental health and his true identity. This is a light and charming movie. I look forward to watching this movie the day after Thanksgiving, it really begins the Christmas season for me.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

6. (1989) – This is a big-hearted movie, a bit raunchy, but lots of fun. Clark Griswold, a befuddled Dad, wants a perfect family Christmas. He dreams of having the most impressive tree. He wants the brightest, most breathtakingly decorated home on the block. Clark cherishes the idea of gathering his entire “perfect” extended family to celebrate the holidays under his roof. And he is patiently waiting on his annual Christmas bonus to build a swimming pool for the family. Let’s just say everything doesn’t go as planned…

Elf

5. (2003) – Buddy is an elf who has lived his whole life in the North Pole. As an adult he discovers he is adopted. Santa then grants Buddy permission to travel to New York City to look for his real father. One thing is for sure, after watching this movie you will know the “true meaning of Christmas.”

White Christmas

4. (1954) – Two friends who served in W.W.II together end up becoming a successful song-and-dance act after the war. They later team up with a pair of beautiful sisters who also have a song-and-dance act. Then they all travel to a Vermont lodge to perform a Christmas show. A series of romantic mix-ups ensue as these two duos put on a spectacular show.

It’s A Wonderful Life

3. (1946) – George Bailey spent his entire life giving his heart and soul to the people of Bedford Falls. Unfortunately, he still considers himself a failure. On a dark and lonely night, George contemplates suicide. Miraculously, an angel who is on a mission to earn his wings appears and shows George how Bedford Falls would be if he never had been born.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

2. (1965) – Charlie Brown gets the blues during Christmas. Lucy appoints him the director of the school Christmas pageant, which proves to be a struggle for Charlie Brown. Linus saves the day by telling Charlie Brown about the true meaning of Christmas.

A Christmas Story

  1. (1983) – 9 year old Ralphie wants a Red Ryder Range 200 Shot BB gun for Christmas. Everyone tells him that he’ll shoot his eye out. TBS plays this movie for 24 hours straight every Christmas. Why? Because people can’t get enough of the leg lamp, licking a frozen pole, little orphan Annie, the bullies and a pink bunny outfit. It’s a holiday classic.

Best Christmas Movies Of All Time (Bonus)

These four movies below didn’t make the list, but, they are still considered some of the best Christmas movies of all time.

🎄) The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017) In 1843, Charles Dickens decides to write a Christmas story and self-publish it in less than two months. Unfortunately he develops writer’s block. Dickens must face his personal demons through his characters in his story. With a looming deadline, Dickens struggles, but creates a classic tale that will define the essential soul of modern Christmas.

🎁 ) Home Alone (1990) The McCallister family is preparing for a Christmas vacation in Paris. The youngest member in the family, Kevin, gets accidentally left behind, and now he has the house all to himself. Kevin is home alone. He gets to order pizza, jump on all the beds, and eat ice cream whenever he wants. Also, he has to defend his home from two burglars on Christmas Eve.

☃️ ) Scrooged (1988) A cynical, mean spirited television executive learns the true meaning of Cristmas when he is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve.

🎅🤶) The Grinch (2018) I love this animated movie. I first watched it in 2019 and it has officially made it into my holiday movie rotation. This Grinch movie is adorable and endearing (far better than the actual movie from 2000), it is a must-watch for sure.
