Homemade Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Quick And Easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so I thought I’d share with you my favorite homemade cranberry sauce recipe. It’s quick and easy to make, so there’s no need to reach for that jiggly, wiggly, cranberry goop in a can.
Follow the recipe shown below for a delicious homemade cranberry sauce

Thanksgiving Cranberry Sauce Recipe
I prefer to use fresh cranberries with this recipe, but I’m sure frozen will work just as well. There are an abundance of fresh cranberries available in the grocery stores during this time of year, so snag a couple of bags while they are still in season.
Remember cranberry sauce is not just for Thanksgiving, there are plenty of recipes where you can use fresh cranberry sauce: charcuterie platters, cranberry scones, pork loin, cakes, pies, chicken, pork chops, waffles, pancakes, place on top of brie and in turkey sandwiches.

How To Prepare Cranberry Sauce
- Bring sugar, water, and orange juice to a boil
- Add cranberries, cinnamon stick, vanilla extract, pumpkin spice, pinch of salt and simmer for 10 minutes
- Simmer for longer if you want a thicker sauce
- Transfer to a serving dish
- Add some orange zest on top of the sauce
- Chill for a couple of hours in the fridge prior to serving

Cranberry Sauce Ingredients
Adjust this recipe how ever you’d like. I personally swap out real sugar for the Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetner (show in image below). There’s just no need for so much sugar, it just takes flavor away from the fresh cranberries. Plus, there’s still added sugar from the orange juice. I’ve read other recipes where people mix half white sugar and half brown sugar as well.
The vanilla extract, orange zest, pumpkin spice mix, and cinnamon stick are optional. If you want to enjoy just the cranberries, then keep the ingredients down to a bare minimum.
You can make this dish up to a week in advance prior to Thanksgiving. And you can keep this sauce in the freezer for up to two or three months in an airtight container.
