Disclosure

Please note: The information on this page is included for educational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.

Per the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, bloggers must disclose any financial, employment, personal, or family relationship with a brand, to comply with laws against deceptive ads. This includes affiliate income and free or discounted products and services.

A disclosure page adds a layer of transparency for your audience. It should address if you use affiliate links, post sponsored content, or accept free or discounted products and services. It should also address any relationships you have with brands you endorse, including businesses you own, are employed by, or have a financial interest in. You can find a sample disclosure policy here.
